COVID-19 Scam Background
A woman in Ireland received an email from which she believed from her husband who was on a medical appointment asking to transfer money to Germany for treatment for COVID-19.
As the attacker took the advantage of human fear she immediately transferred money, later at night she realized her husband is fine but they have been conned for 30,000 euros.
The husband immediately reported this incident to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB). The good news is the immediate actions and co-ordination between Ireland and Germany Police all money was recovered.
